Reckless and unlawful

During his first days in office, Donald Trump and his advisors promised to bring "shock and awe" with their policies.

They made good on that promise yesterday.

In a memo released by the Office of Management and Budget, the Trump administration made clear that they intended to freeze all federal funds and grants.

In the hours after this freeze was announced, our country has been plunged into chaos. The depth and breadth of his federal funding freeze is stunning.

State Medicaid portals, including Massachusetts', are shut down; funding for hospitals and community health centers is up in the air; Head Start schools can't access the funds for their children; Veterans programs are in limbo; and homebound seniors have no idea if they'll get their regular Meals on Wheels.

Donald Trump and his cronies have looked us dead in the eye multiple times and promised to cut these programs, making life worse for the average American while enriching themselves.

Maybe it's time we start believing him.

While a federal judge has temporarily halted Trump's plan, welcome to the next 4 years. Donald Trump and his cronies are going to continue to try to make life worse for Americans. I promise I will fight tooth and nail to preserve these crucial programs and stop the attack on working Americans. I need you to stay in this fight with me.
