Who's really in charge?

Elon Musk has glued himself to Trump's side since the election; sitting in on key transition meetings, weighing in on cabinet nominations, and even dictating the GOP legislative agenda.

Apparently, America is a nation with 2 Presidents? I must've missed that day in school.

Don't just take my word for it, look at Trump's inauguration. He invited Elon Musk to sit front and center, on the platform normally reserved for cabinet appointees and elected officials.

You know, people who are entrusted with power and responsibility.

Trump's willingness to hand over the reins of power to an unelected billionaire is dangerous, but expected. After all, his heart has never really seemed all the way in that whole "being President of the United States" thing.

But, his embrace of Elon does raise some serious concerns about the way the government will function under a Trump/Musk administration. Should an international crisis emerge, will Elon be in the situation room? Will he take meetings on the Hill to negotiate the details of important legislation?

We saw just how much influence he had during the budget negotiations last year, with GOP senators appealing directly to him to win favor for their provisions in the bill.

Looking at all of the facts, it's hard not to wonder: Who's really in charge here?

Together in this fight,

Jim
