Is it 2017 or 2025?
Doesn't this all feel a little familiar?
The slow drip of information about the heinous policies in store for us after January 20th, the seemingly endless stream of nonsense quotes from cabinet nominees, even the re-emergence of old characters in our national nightmare (remember Steve Bannon?).
Is this 2017 or 2025? I'm getting a little deja vu.
While I'm not exactly jumping at the opportunity to take a trip down memory lane, there were some bright spots during those dark times.
In the days leading up to the 2017 inauguration, there was a real sense of unity. It felt like the whole country came together in our resolve to stop the worst of the Trump administration and protect our values. While we won on some fronts and lost on others, we stood together with our fellow citizens to fight for the country we believe in.
We've got a long 4 years ahead of us, and the only way we're going to get through this is by rekindling the kind of energy and enthusiasm that inspired millions of people to attend marches across the country for reproductive rights and put sustained pressure on Republicans to vote against attempts to take away their healthcare.
I'm renewing my commitment to the fight against MAGA extremism today. I hope you'll join me in doing the same because our country needs us.
Together in this fight,
Jim
