August 26, 1920

Today, we commemorate Women's Equality Day, a pivotal moment in our nation's history that marks the adoption of the 19th Amendment which granted women the right to vote on August 26, 1920. This amendment was only made possible thanks to decades of relentless activism and bravery by suffragists who believed in equality and justice.

The right to vote is a fundamental aspect of our democracy, and it serves as a powerful reminder of not only the progress we've made in pursuing equality, but the work that remains. As we honor the suffragists who fought tirelessly for this right, we must also commit to protecting and exercising it.

Today, commemorate Women's Equality Day by honoring the courage and resilience of the suffragists. Check your voter registration, encourage others to do the same, and let's make sure that every voice is counted.

From the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848 to the modern-day activists working for equality and justice — it takes action from all of us to pave the way for progress in the face of entrenched opposition.

Together, we can build a future where equality is a reality for all.

Yours in the fight,

Jim
