Vice President Kamala Harris has announced that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will join the Democratic ticket. 

That’s huge news! I’m excited by Tim’s record of tireless advocacy for reducing child hunger and poverty and strengthening our social safety net. 

I’ve known Tim Walz for years, and I’m proud to call him a friend and colleague. He’s a true public servant in every sense of the word, and I look forward to seeing him and VP Harris on the campaign trail making the case against Donald Trump. 

Throughout his term as Governor, Tim Walz has governed with progressive priorities in mind, signing into law universal school meals, stronger protections for workers and the LGBTQ+ community, guaranteed paid family and sick leave, regulations putting Minnesota on the path to 100% clean energy by 2030, and has been one of the staunchest defenders of reproductive rights in the nation. 

And guess what? He did this all with a single-vote majority in the state legislature. With their combined experience, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will be ready on day one to deliver for the American people. 

Now that our ticket is set, Democrats are energized and ready to take on the final few months of this election.
