The GOP just took a drastic measure to shut me up.

Earlier today, I was silenced by House Republicans for stating the simple fact that Donald Trump has been indicted on 88 felony counts and is currently on trial in a court of law for allegedly sending a hush money payment to a porn star to avoid a sex scandal during his 2016 campaign — and then fraudulently disguising those payments in violation of the law.

These things are not my opinion — they are unfortunately just the truth.

A truth so uncomfortable for my MAGA colleagues in Congress that they moved to silence me — striking my words from the record and banning me from speaking on the House floor for the rest of the day.

But I will not stay silent and I will not stand idly by while they attempt to sweep Trump's trials under the rug. Can you rush a contribution of $3 to my re-election campaign and help me continue to hold Trump and his enablers accountable?

It is unbelievable to me that I'm not allowed to state facts on the House floor. We are living in unprecedented times, and the presumptive Republican nominee for President of the United States is facing 88 felony counts.

Let me say that again.

The presumptive nominee for President of the United States is facing 88 felony counts.

He is on trial for attempting to cover up a 2016 sex scandal by sending hush money to a porn star.

He violated the law by fraudulently disguising those payments.

Further, he is charged with conspiring to overturn the election.

He is charged with stealing classified information.

A civil court jury has found him liable for rape.

This is what I attempted to highlight on the House floor this afternoon — and that's why Republicans are trying to silence me.

To be clear: Trump wants to be treated as a faultless, unquestionable, adored king. By choosing to ignore these elephants in the room, this Republican-controlled House is not only accommodating this behavior — they are complicit in it. Will you chip in $3 right now so we can continue to state the truth?

The Republican-controlled House just made their rules clear: they can say the jury is rigged, the court is corrupt, the trial is a "sham" — but don't you dare suggest that Trump can be put on trial for alleged crimes just like every other American.

The fact that certain speech about the trial is admissible, but factually accurate information isn't, is a very dangerous precedent for Congress and for our democracy.

I'm fighting back.

In solidarity,

Jim
