No one should go to sleep hungry at night.
Today, my Dad joined my friend Monte Belmonte on a march to fight hunger here in Western Massachusetts. He's been doing this for nearly a decade, and frankly as long as I can remember, it's his favorite way to spend his birthday.
Over the next two days, he'll push a shopping cart all the way to Greenfield – roughly 43 miles. Each year, they're joined by more people of all beliefs and backgrounds, who come together to amplify a simple belief: No one should go to sleep hungry at night.
Monte's March benefits The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, but this is more than just an organizational fundraising drive. Will you help commemorate Dad's mission to end hunger and his birthday with a contribution of $3 today?
This is the sum of struggles for our neighbors, for people quietly living the fear of not knowing how they will feed their families, and how we come together to do something about it.
