Workers are the backbone of America. They deserve our support.

On this Labor Day, I want to recognize and celebrate the incredible labor movement that has shaped and continues to shape the heart and soul of America!

Workers are the backbone of America. And when they come together, real change is possible.

From the ashes of the devastating Triangle Shirtwaist Fire to the electrifying Great Postal Workers Strike of 1970 and the roaring Red for Ed teachers' movement, organized labor has been a relentless force for better and safer working conditions. We owe our weekends, the eradication of child labor, worker's compensation, and so much more to them.

This summer, we've seen workers across the country continue to stand together. These workers are leading the fight for a more equal America, protecting their rights and demanding a living wage.

It's time to challenge the status quo. CEOs, studio executives, and shareholders have been comfortable exploiting their workers for too long. A majority of Americans are standing with unions, and that wave is building.

I'm proud to stand with workers — from Trader Joe's employees in Hadley to Starbucks baristas in Worcester. I will always do whatever I can to support their efforts in Congress. Together, we can create a more equitable and fair America.
