This is what a climate emergency looks like

In Massachusetts, we've had record rainfall and flash flooding. Our roads and farms are drowning, literally. Record rainfall has ruined crops — threatening farmers' livelihoods and food security in the region.

This is what a climate emergency looks like. Not somewhere else. Right in our backyard.

If we don't act on climate, this is our future.

Republicans in Congress treat the climate crisis like a pesky fly, swatting away any responsibility. They go on and on about how bad climate solutions are for our economy. But that's BS! We all know it's dirty fossil fuel polluters pulling their strings with big campaign checks.

The truth is, it's not an either-or-situation. We can have a strong economy and support climate solutions like clean energy.

The real problem is that Republicans and their fossil fuel cronies don't care that climate change is already impacting communities. All they care about is money and power.

Global temperatures have been rising at an alarming rate, shattering records almost daily. And at the same time, Big Oil companies are quietly walking back their previous climate pledges. And no Republicans are lining up to hold them accountable.

Someone needs to be the grown-up in this room and take action while Republicans play pretend. Climate change is here now. Let's act like it.

I will never stop pushing for climate action on behalf of our communities and future generations. I hope you'll join me.

Yours in the fight,

Jim
